My name is Eric Van Nielsen.  I have a passion for incisive design solutions & compelling multimedia designs that are informed by my aesthetic sensibilities.  After studying fine art at The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, I became an artist for Trader Joe's for over 14 years.  During that time I created murals, signage & aesthetics for their Philadelphia, Chicago and New York City stores. As Regional Artist for Trader Joe’s in Manhattan, I developed retail murals and aesthetic concepts for five stores in two years. In fall of 2020, I graduated from BrainStation’s UX Design diploma program in order to design digital products that adhere to the high standards & aesthetics of today. As a freelance designer, I have created animatics, motion graphics & llustrations that can be seen on PBS documentaries and in higher education publications.  I have over 15 years experience in concept design, logo design, video editing, motion graphics, graphic design, illustration,  or aesthetic and retail experience design development.
